Committees of Borough Council

The Borough Council consists of seven (7) elected members who meet to establish policy and oversee the management of Borough functions. Council members are assigned to various Council Committees, which traditionally focus on supervising specific categories of Borough operations.

For example, the Public Safety Committee oversees matters pertaining to the Collingdale Police Department, the Fire Department, and other public safety issues.

Each Council Committee shall consist of three (3) members, one of whom shall serve as Chairperson.

Pursuant to the Pennsylvania Borough Code, the Council President determines which committees shall be established, appoints the members of each committee, and designates the Chairperson of each committee.

The Council President retains full authority over the committee structure, including the assignment of members and the designation of committee leadership. Committees, committee memberships, and Chairperson designations shall serve at the pleasure of the Council President and may be modified at any time.
